Dear Dad, Thank you, for giving me my passion for the greatest football team in the world; the stories from 65 and 66 when you went to Milan and Glasgow; watching the 71 cup final with me in my playpen; my first game v Newcastle in March 77; going to the Echo building to make sure I got my photograph with the team in August 79; waiting patiently for the title winning game in May 80 to finish (we weren't able to get in) and taking me on the Kop when the barriers opened towards the end to see us lift the title; and my first final in 87 and the meal in Stratford on the way back with your all your friends from work and the bouncers watching over us to make sure we paid! Wonderful memories, which saw Paula and I become season tickets holders and 30 years later we are Champions of Europe, the World and England when we lifted number 19, which I'm so happy you knew we'd won.

To Grandad, I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that you have left. But I do know that I am so proud to be your granddaughter. I don’t know how you coped with me winding you up every single time I saw you. I know I would always go too far and really annoy you, but you would always let me carry on just because I found it so funny. I know you probably moaned to Nan after I left but I am sure you always sort of found the funny side (I hope). When you get there, you can have ALL of the cake that you want! There will be no one stopping you or giving you a sly look as you try to take the biggest piece of cake and no one will be able to tell you that you’ve eaten too much! I am really going to miss all your stories. My favourite story is the one where you were called into the Nun’s office when you were invited for the fancy meal, however I also love the one where you went into the back of the chippy with your new best friend (you know who I mean) haha! I am so grateful that I got to spend 27 years with you as my grandad, and you will continue to live on in all of the memories that I have of you. Lots of Love Michaela
